Building 31 completes the three-building administrative complex at Genentech’s South San Francisco complex. This new five-story, 125,000 square-foot building houses 450 administrative staff. The exterior building design reflects the functions of the interior while acknowledging the unique properties of the existing site and the future conditions implied by the master plan. Johnson Fain has provided many services to Genentech for many years including master planning, architecture, programming and interior design services at the 100-acre campus that consists of multiple buildings and research laboratories overlooking the San Francisco Bay.
