Location:  Anaheim, California

Client: Lennar

The Platinum Triangle is the older industrial area around Anaheim Stadium, the Pond, and Disneyland that is undergoing a major redevelopment. Lennar’s community site for A-Town is approximately 40 acres on which Johnson Fain created a concept design to include a signature urban center as a community of neighborhoods, each with distinctive character, containing more than 2,500 residences, including high-rise residential towers, street town homes, podium town homes, and lofts. Retail and town homes would be developed at the base of towers to create strong, active street edges. These neighborhoods would be unified by Market Street, which will contain a central plaza and allow for approximately 130,000 square feet of street-related retail development. Two public park areas totaling 3.5 acres would be provided: 1) to the east of the Market Street central plaza to provide green space, trees and water along a wide pedestrian promenade linking to State College; and 2) a neighborhood green space surrounded by walk-up brownstones.

Parcel D is approximately 90,000 square feet in area, and is proposed to contain a new 100-unit condominium tower, 18,000 square feet of retail, and underground parking to accommodate 850 cars. Parcel E is approximately 96,000 square feet in area, and is proposed to contain a 240-foot-tall tower with a variety of podium units totaling 310 condominiums, 15,000 square feet of retail, and underground parking to accommodate 610 cars.
