Environmental Stewards
Johnson Fain is dedicated to clear sustainability goals and practical solutions and has an innate respect for the environment. Our sustainable strategies encompass a comprehensive approach that considers all three branches of our practice: urban design + planning, architecture, and interiors. As a proud Architecture 2030 Signatory, and with knowledge of various sustainability and resilient strategies, such as Passive House, LEED, WELL, and Living Future Challenge, we provide many avenues for designing projects that achieve carbon neutrality.
Our thoughtful urban planning leverages climatic and geographic conditions, strategically shaping cities with a sustainable and resilient framework. We also cherish our communities by embracing and celebrating cultural heritage, sourcing local materials, minimizing construction waste, and integrating seamlessly with existing infrastructure.
Sustainable design features are incorporated into the project from the beginning. We optimize building energy requirements through a blend of passive and active techniques, harnessing the power of energy efficiency and renewable resources. We champion resource conservation using local, recycled, and renewable materials, always considering health, durability, and maintenance.
Johnson Fain’s portfolio includes over five million square feet of sustainable projects including LEED registered projects and Net Zero designs. Project site specific solutions enhance the architecture through fully integrated consultant sustainable strategies and enhanced architectural building systems.
