Location: Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

Client:  CNS Resorts

This golf resort is located in the exclusive Gold Coast district of Queensland, eastern Australia, at the base of the McPherson mountain range, offering panoramic coastal views.  The dramatic 550 acre site features gentle meadows and dramatic hillsides densely forested with eucalyptus trees, set amid the thoroughbred horse ranches and farms of the Currumbin Creek Valley. Resort facilities include: an 18 hole golf course, 150-room hotel, golf club, health club and conference complex; small boat marina; 650 housing units including condominiums, single family homes and custom home sites.

Set atop a high knoll extending from Mount Bilinga, the hotel and golf club complex is reached by means of a scenic lane which ascends from adjacent Currumbin Creek, through meadowland and forest.  Stylistically the architectural design references the multi-Indo-European roots of Australia while focusing on traditional popular vernacular. The linear hotel and golf club complex’s main lobby sits at the extreme end of the knoll overlooking the golf course, river valley and Pacific Ocean.  Terraced room wings extend from the main lobby along the forested hillside to provide views from every room and suite.
