Director of Business Development and Communications

Johnson Fain is seeking a self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, creative individual to work collaboratively with our senior management on leading the firms business development, marketing, and communications efforts.  Qualified candidates must have experience in the A&E sector in business promotion, the preparation of formal request for qualifications, and proposals. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team-player and must possess a strong work ethic, superior writing skills, and strong business development and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and production of responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) from private and public clients.
  • Lead the design and production of marketing and communications material including but not limited to email newsletters, brochures, digital presentations, graphic displays, print/digital invitations, and press releases.
  • Lead the production of award submittals.
  • Create consistent messaging and branding throughout marketing team.
  • Outreach to potential clients, cultivate existing client relationships, and teaming partnerships.
  • Engage in the A/E/C community, joining relevant professional organizations and representing the firm at meetings, events, and conferences.

Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree with concentration in business development, marketing, or communications.
  • Minimum of 6 years related experience, preferably with an A&E firm or architectural school.
  • Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Superior editing, writing, and graphic design skills.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Communications Coordinator

Johnson Fain is seeking a self-motivated, organized, detail oriented, creative individual to work collaboratively with our Director of Business Development and Communications as well as senior management on marketing, communications and business development efforts for the firm.  The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team-player and must possess a strong work ethic and strong graphic and communication skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and production of responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) and Requests for Proposals (RFP) from private and public clients.
  • Assist in the design and production of marketing and communications material including but not limited to email newsletters, brochures, digital presentations, graphic displays, print/digital invitations, and press releases.
  • Assist in the production of award submittals.
  • Maintain and update client database.
  • Assist in the maintenance of website and social media content.
  • Assist in coordinating and planning various internal and external events.
  • Provide basic office administrative assistance.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in marketing, communications, architecture or graphic design.
  • 2-5 years related experience, preferably with an architecture firm or school.
  • Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Superior graphic design skills
  • Strong editing, writing, and design skills.
  • Basic html / WordPress knowledge.

Intermediate Designer (Design Staff 1 or Architect 1)

Johnson Fain is seeking a self-motivated, highly-skilled Intermediate Designer to work collaboratively with our design and technical team on a variety of project types.  The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team-player with a background in Architecture. In addition, the candidate must possess a strong work ethic and strong client interface, leadership and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform interior and exterior design and documentation assignments including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Produce presentation drawings that effectively and creatively communicate design ideas.
  • Develop and explore design alternatives, code analysis, building detailing, and integration of building systems (structure, MEP, lighting, landscape, interiors, etc.) throughout the design and construction process.
  • Work collaboratively to coordinate design and documents with other disciplines.
  • Assist in selection and presentation of furniture, fabrics and equipment (FF&E).

Job Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of work experience in an architectural office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
  • Advanced knowledge of Revit, and BIM standards
  • Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of Autocad, Sketch Up, Lumion, Rhino/ Grasshopper, Dynamo, is a plus.
